Bathroom Renovations in Ajax
From the wartime houses of the original village to the subdivisions built across north Ajax in the 2000s, we renovate Ajax bathrooms with the house's age in mind. Starting at $15,999.
Ajax Homes Have Two Stories to Tell
Ajax began as a wartime town. The Town of Ajax records that about 600 houses were built in the original village for workers at the Defence Industries Limited shell plant, and many of those small homes still stand. Their bathrooms are compact, and like other houses built before the mid-1950s, they can still have a lead water service pipe on the private side.
Most of Ajax is much newer. The 2021 census shows 26.9% of the town's homes were built between 2001 and 2010, the largest share of any decade. Those builder-grade bathrooms are now around twenty years old, and many of the same houses have unfinished basements with a bathroom rough-in waiting to be used.
Pickering Village, the historic core on Ajax's north side, is a heritage conservation district, so exterior changes there need to be checked against the district rules before work starts.

Planning a Bathroom in an Ajax Home
Here is what we look at first when we visit an Ajax bathroom.
Wartime Village Houses
Small footprints mean smart layouts, wall-hung fixtures and careful storage planning.
Lead Service Pipes
Durham Region says lead service pipes are typically found in homes built before the mid-1950s, and replacing the private side is the owner's responsibility.
2000s Builder-Grade Bathrooms
Around twenty years old now, these often need new waterproofing behind the tile as well as new finishes.
Basement Rough-Ins
Many newer Ajax basements have a rough-in. We confirm its depth and condition before quoting.
Pickering Village Heritage District
Exterior changes in the historic core are checked against the district rules first.
